General FAQ

How can I open a live account?

You simply need to complete the registration process. Click the open account link  here to get started.


When can I place my first trade?

Once you successfully complete our electronic verification, which only takes a couple of minutes, you will be up and trading.


What can I trade with Zero?

You can access a large range of forex currency pairs, CFD equities, futures, indices, shares, and commodities. In total, we offer over 10,000 instruments.


Can I open multiple accounts?

Yes, Zero supports the opening of multiple accounts. Please contact [email protected] for further details and assistance.


What are the different account types?

Account types include Individual, Joint, Sole Trader, Company, Individual Trustee, and Corporate Trustee. At the time of registration, select the appropriate account type.


What is the minimum opening balance requirement?

For MT4 and MT5 the minimum opening balance is USD 200 or $200 in the base currency. For IRESS CFD accounts the minimum opening balance is USD 1,000 or $1,000 in the base currency.


Do I need to download any software?

You don’t need to download any software with IRESS it simply runs on any browser. Downloading and installing software is required for the MT4 and MT5 platforms. However you can also trade on the Web Trader platform which requires no download.


Can I trade through the Mobile App?

Yes! MT4, MT5 and IRESS are supported on mobile platforms. To download, please search IRESS or MetaTrader4 and MetraTrader 5  on the App Stores.

Funding FAQ

What payment methods can i use to fund my accounts?

Zero accepts BPay cheques, Neteller and credit cards (Visa/Master/UnionPay: and wire transfers. Click here for more payment options.


What currencies do you accept?

For deposits, we offer multiple funding currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, HKD, JPY, NZD, CHF, CAD and CNY. Click here for more information .


How long do deposits take to clear?

Credit card deposits are usually the quickest way to top up your account, depending on whether we need verifications. BPay can arrive the next day, while wire transfers take between 1-3 business days depending on the time the funds were deposited or if it’s an overseas transfer.


How long do withdrawals take?

BPay and wire transfers take up to 2 business days if all the necessary information is provided, while credit card refunds can take 4-5 business days depending on the bank you are with.


How can i withdraw funds?

We’ll need to verify your identity if you are making a withdrawal for the first time. We usually do this by asking for a copy of your driver’s license, proof of age card or passport, along with a signed withdrawal request form sent from the email address you registered with. Any withdrawal after this you can simply send an email to [email protected] from the email you registered with, along with your account number and the amount you wish to withdraw.


Can i withdraw funds when i have open positions?

Yes, as long as the remaining equity doesn’t make your margin level fall below 100%.


How much does Zero charge for withdrawals?

We don’t charge any fees for processing Australian withdrawals, but there is a $20 transaction fee for International bank transfers and 1.8% charge for credit cards. Please click here for a comparison of all withdrawal methods for both Australian and global clients.

Account FAQ

Can i manage multiple accounts?

Yes. To open multiple accounts, log into your client portal and open them from here. Or send an email to [email protected] with your name, existing account number and your request.


How can i recover a lost trading password?

Call us on (+61 2 8252 6800 ) or email us [email protected]. You will need to verify your identity.


How can i transfer funds between my accounts?

If you have two accounts and accidentally transferred money into the wrong one, you can simply make an internal transfer by emails us [email protected] stating the account name, numbers and the amount you want transferred.


How do i change my leverage?

If you have an MT4 account simply request this within the client portal or feel free to email [email protected] with your account number, name and your desired leverage. If you are using the IRESS platform you would have chosen either a leveraged or a non-leveraged account during the application process. If you want to switch please email [email protected] with your request.

MT4 FAQ

I’ve installed MT4 on my Mac but the system blocked it because it came from an “unknown developer”. What should i do? Go to ‘System Preferences’ > ‘Security & Privacy’ > and on the General tab click the lock in the lower left corner to unlock the pane. Please select the ‘Anywhere’ option so the application can work.


I can’t login to my MT4 account.

First check your internet connection is strong and running. Next check if you have any anti-virus or Firewall software that might be blocking the software. If so, you may need to disable them temporarily. Make sure you are connecting to the correct server. If you are using a Demo account for example, connect to the Demo server. On the right bottom corner of the MT4 platform, click on the ‘connection bars’ icon, then ‘rescan servers’. If this doesn’t change the server connection status, select another server and try again. MT4 indicates context busy when i try to place an order.

This can happen when a second order is placed when the first order is still in process. Simply close your MetaTrader4 terminal and launch it again to fix the problem.


How do i change my MT4 password?

On the top toolbar, select ‘Tools’ > ‘Options’ then click on ‘Change’ next to the password tab.


My EA is getting triggered but i didn’t place any orders.

Check the Experts tab in the terminal. If the EA is trying to place trades without success it will show an error number. Contact [email protected] or call us on (+61 2 8252 6800)  with the error number so we can find out what’s going wrong and fix it for you.


Where can i find the current swap rates?

Right click in the Market Watch window and select symbols. Click ‘Properties’ for a specific trading symbol and it will give you all details including swap rates.


Why was i charged triple swap overnight?

Each Wednesday, the bank and liquidity providers pre-charge triple swaps on all overnight positions for the upcoming weekend. Financial institutions use a T+2 rule on FX settlements and Thursday will be the first day when trades are settled into the next week.


Can i apply for a swap free account?

As an ECN broker, we don’t have control over financing fees and not able to cover these costs for our clients.


Why aren’t i seeing all the products you advertise in Market Watch?

Right click in the Market Watch window and select ‘Show All’.


What is your server time?

MT4’s server time is GMT+3. This means the closing time of New York session (5pm) will be 0AM on our servers. This occasionally moves to GMT+2 in line with New York Daylight savings.


What leverage do MT4 accounts offer?

Zero offers flexible leverage from 1:1 to 1:500.


Can i trade micro lots?

Yes. Micro lots are available to all MT4 account types.
